To cope with the increasing demands of new vehicle systems. Volkswagen Group has released new diagnosis software called ODIS or Offboard Diagnosis Information System.
All new Volkswagen group vehicles (Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda) will be compatible with this (in some cases new vehicles such as the new Audi A3 or even the Volkswagen Golf Mk 7 can only communicate with ODIS).
This system completely differs from its predecessor VAS PC. From the time the vehicle is connected to the ODIS system, the computers connect to our computer network. So the diagnosis computer communicating with the Volkswagen Group factory database every time it’s connected.
ODIS can carry out simple things such as interrogating fault memories and repairs to resetting service indicators that would usually only be possible at a main dealers. Many jobs require connecting the ODIS computer system such as key coding, ECU replacement and manufacture software updates.
Our Technician’s will be able to choose the one system they want to use. Of course for all newer vehicles it will be ODIS that will be selected. But we can still go back to the “older” stuff if we want to.
