Gearbox Oil Change

Maintaining your gearbox

Gearbox Oil Change

Gearbox (transmission) fluid acts as both a lubricant and coolant to your transmission system. Everyday wear and tear breaks down the viscosity of transmission fluid making it less effective and can affect the performance of your Gearbox potentially causing costly consequential damage to components.

Why does my Gearbox oil need to be changed?

The transmission also known as the Gearbox is sophisticated piece of engineering and typically needs regular oil changes. In the case of DSG gearboxes the smooth two-clutch system is computer-controlled with very fine engineering tolerances. If the gearbox oil is dirty or deteriorated it will damage the other parts and affect the performance of the gearbox. Which can lead to issues such as poor gear selection, loss of power and even transmission failure. Resulting in costly repairs.
